MADISON (WMSN) -- If you saw thousands of people dressed up in pink in Madison Saturday, that's because they were taking part in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event.
This is the 14th annual event.
Organizers say the best part about the cause, is 75% of the money raised, stays local.
The money goes to help give out free breast screenings and those fighting the disease today.
"I ran for everybody that's been touched by breast cancer and also for myself and my family," said Jill Lodahl, cancer survivor.
About 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer in their lifetime.
